Before You Upload

  • Your file must include a header row (column names in the first row)
  • For email fields, include the word "email" in the column name
  • For phone fields, include the word "phone" in the column name
  • We clean what can be safely and add a notes column to highlight anything that may need your review

Examples of supported phone or email column names:

  • Email, Business Email, Contact Email
  • Phone, Home Phone, Mobile Phone, Business Phone
Note: Duplicate rows are automatically removed in the final file.

What it Does

  • Normalizes column headers — trims extra spaces, converts to lowercase, and replaces spaces with underscores (e.g., "Phone Number" → "phone_number")
  • Trims all values — removes leading and trailing whitespace from every field
  • Standardizes email addresses — converts valid emails to lowercase and flags invalid formats without modifying them
  • Normalizes phone numbers — converts recognizable phone numbers to a consistent 10-digit format (e.g., "(555) 123-4567" → "5551234567")
  • Preserves uncertain data — values that cannot be safely interpreted (e.g., invalid phone numbers or emails) are left unchanged and clearly noted
  • Removes duplicate rows — keeps the first occurrence and removes exact duplicates automatically
  • Adds a notes column — highlights rows that may need attention (e.g., "Invalid email", "Invalid phone")
  • Maintains CSV integrity — properly handles commas, quotes, apostrophes, and line breaks within fields
  • Processes large files efficiently — streams the file row-by-row to support large datasets without slowing down
